Follow Claudia, a teenage girl with the ability to control heat.
Can she regain her life after escaping from the facility and finding new friends, or will she exact revenge on those who took her childhood away?
Born with a unique ability, Claudia has found her life to be filled with rejection, ostracism, and manipulation by all but one person, Dr J. When he is found dead due to a suspicious suicide, she decides to escape the facility where she had been kept and experimented on for the past seven years and search for the answers she'd never had.
Instead, she finds Westpoint where she embarks on a mission, unlike any of those she had undergone before. She has to learn what it's like to live a typical life. And when the high school quarterback is thrown into the mix, being normal feels so strange.
Torn between the urge to avenge Dr J's death and the chance to belong. Will Claudia learn how to fit in, or will she ultimately yield to the power the facility had worked so hard to nurture?
"We don't control what happens in our life, but we can control how we react to them"
That is one way to see in 2021, with an utterly enthralling heart racing, dystopian style last decade novel. My heart is still racing from the passion in the last two chapters. I expected science, thrill & mystery, and I got so much more. I got passion and teenage romance, taking me back to my own love at first sight, I love a book that recalls your own memories, that takes quite a skill, and I just fell completely in love with this book. ...
An innocent romance.
I really enjoyed the plot of the story and how she learns to overcome her fears. I was expecting more action and use of her powers, but I actually liked the way it focussed on her and her journey to love and acceptance. It's not so much about a superhero falling in love. It's about a girl who happens to have a superpower and also falls in love. I guess if I were to put a movie quote to this book, it would be something like "I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy, ..." Hahaha. ...
From mystery to romance, the book ‘Adapted’ by Elizabeth Caroline is a complete treat. The plot revolves around
Claudia, a specially a abled girl, who has a unique ability with heat. Her early life and struggles at the
research center, where she was treated as a transgenic animal, are emotionally appealing. Whereas her school
life will take you back to your memories.
The plot is perfectly balanced by thriller, mystery, science, romance and emotions. Claudia’s relationship with her
family, friends, especially Solomon, and Dr.J, are portrayed very well. ...
After reading this book all I could think was I need a Solomon in my life.
This book follows a 16 year old orphan girl Claudia who was born with the ability to control heat, she has been
used for testing in a facility and been rejected her whole life which leads to her having no trust in people.
After finding her long lost father she also stumble into Solomon when she starts the local school, and it is
about their love that the story is based around.
This is such a sweet love story about learning to open up and trust people, it will leave you daydreaming at
times and wondering if Solomon exists....
A sweet treat!
